Hi Karen,
I know I'm biased as his mom-- even so, Aiko is one of the hardest-working kids I've ever known---I'm proud of him for demonstrating ownership of his desire to stay involved in BHC this year by taking the USA Hockey's referee training so he could refine his understanding of the game and earn some of the funds himself to put towards the cost of his participation. Throughout these middle school years he has also consistently applied himself academically, maintaining an Honor Roll level of performance as a student. I witness how much his ice hockey community--- his coaches, staff, team-mates, and team-parents inspire him to be his best, on and off the ice. I deeply appreciate your organization's role in helping players such as our son to be able to continue playing hockey: Thank you all for making this year possible for Aiko

Hi Karen,
This is Nicholas! He will be 12 in March. He plays center for the Motor City Machine. Nick has been playing hockey since he was 3 years old. Hockey is his life. Because of the generosity of your donors, Nicholas has been able to continue playing the sport that is so much a part of his life. Our hope is that one day when we are back on our feet, we will be able to contribute to your organization, and help someone else. Thank you!
